Friday 13 July 2018 saw one of the most historic passenger steam train runs in South Africa two decades! After being mothballed for 14 years, our most famous locomotive, South African Railways Class 26 No. 3450, nick named "Red Devil", was completely restored, thanks to the recently formed Ceres Rail Company. On Friday, 13 July 2018 she did her first post-restoration haul, consisting of 6 vintage passenger coaches, for a weekend trip from Cape Town to Robertson and back.
