It has been said that De Kelders is an even better spot for whale watching than the more famous Hermanus in South Africa. Here the Southern Right Whales come annually to give birth and comes right up the rocks such that you can hear them breath! In 2017 there was a very energetic calf who regularly gave displays of breaching and tail flapping right at the shore of which Johan le Roux captured some beautiful pictures sequences, shown in this short video.
