The 40-inch "Elizabeth" Telescope in Sutherland, South Africa, dates from 1962, made by Grubb Parsons, England. It was first installed at the Royal Observatory in Cape Town, but moved to Sutherland ten years later when the South African Astronomical Observatory was formed. Despite being quite old (almost 60 years at the time of upload), it is still in use almost every clear night. This footage was taken by attaching two Mobius action cams to the telescope, while taking it through it paces. The telescope controls were subsequently automated, but here the manual system was used.
