When I fly my drone at the seaside, mostly in the Gansbaai area, it often happens that it gets attacked by seabirds. Luckily they never made contact ... yet... but they get amazingly close to my drone, making for great footage.
Although seagulls do some of the attacking, the black oystercatcher is even more aggressive and keep circling the drone, launching repeated close flybys. Shortly after launching the drone, seagulls are quick to respond, but loose interest after a short while. They do however still make for good footage when they happen to fly through the camera’s field of view, particularly during scenic shots. Sometimes even flocks of birds entertain the view.
