Dr Jim Green, former NASA Chief Scientist and Jim Adams, former Deputy Chief Technologist at NASA Headquarters visited South Africa, during Space Tour 2025. Jim and Jim played a key role in launching the ATLAS South Africa project and were thrilled to visit the telescope during their road trip across the country. As a token of appreciation for the efforts of Nic Erasmus and myself for building the ATLAS dome and installing the telescope when COVID-19 forced a change of plans, Jim Green presented us with a special coin, minted from metal offcuts from the Curiosity Rover.
