If you can't find a tool when you need it then you might want to do this. Even something as trivial as an Alan key can throw a wrench into your plans when it you can't remember where you put it. For a long while, I fixed this issue by determining a spot in a draw for them. I still had to 'dig' them out from time to time because other things in the draw would wind up on top of them. Now, you may think this to be no big deal, but I assure you; since I found a home on the wall for my Alan wrenches, I have come to appreciate very much, how nice it is to not interrupt the work flow when you need a tool. Not only does it save time when you retrieve it, but it also makes cleanup go a lot quicker.
