Both beginners and experts can learn from each other all the time. But only when they share their secrets. After realizing that some of my Facebook viewers didn't know what I meant when I mentioned 'pulling crabs out of trees', I figured that it was time to give the mangrove tree crab some more camera time. While I was at it, I decided to share some other tips and tricks that I've learned, both new and old. And in case you were wondering, I caught the thumbnail redfish with a Gulp soft plastic on a weighted jighead. The lure is the type that shrinks if you leave it on the hook overnight. I'm not sure if the scent was what triggered the bite or if it was when I paused to hike up my shorts. Stopping mid-retrieve to reach for a drink sometimes works too!
