In this video, I’ll take you through the step-by-step process of woodturning a simple yet elegant dish from walnut wood. Using my Harvey T60S wood lathe, I’ll demonstrate how to shape and finish the piece, but don’t worry – this can be done on any wood lathe! I’ll be using carbide woodturning tools from Easy Wood Tools for precision and ease.
For the finishing touches, I’ve chosen to use Yorkshire Grit abrasive paste and Hampshire Sheen high gloss finishing wax to bring out the rich, natural beauty of the walnut – but feel free to use your preferred finish. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced woodturner, this tutorial will guide you to create a beautiful walnut dish you can be proud of.
