Most of the wood I use comes from trees in my local area. Buying exotic wood is both expensive and bad for the environment. So I'm using what I can get close to home.
When you are just starting to turn, you will have a hard time finding dry wood for your first projects. Therefore it makes sense to create some storage space. Unfortunately mine is outside but some things you cannot change. This summer I will do a clean-out and re-organize everything so that my fresh wood is at the bottom again and I have easy access to what's ready to turn.
