Well here is another way to use up some more of that Scotch Broom! Having the branch growing in just that right spot made this an ideal piece! This piece is probably 25 or 30 years old and is starting to show its age! Because the core has darkened over the years... it made it very easy to use ebony as a filler. As a matter of fact... chances are that if you saw it in person... you probably wouldn't notice it... even if you knew it was there!
Cap'n Eddie's shine juice was always a favourite of mine in the early years of my turning. But I am afraid that I haven't gotten around to getting any of the boiled linseed oil... instead I just use mineral oil. I am sure that the result is different... but it still makes it look pretty good to me!

The reason for singling out the Cap'n here is that I understand that he also just had a tumour removed and I know that he is feeling like crap! But if he is anything like me at all... (he must be... he makes things round!) then if by chance he ever saw this... it would make him smile... just for a minute .. of course! And a smile is one more step in the right direction!
So I have to leave this rather vague as to when I will be back... (it took 3 weeks to get this one done!!) ... But I guarantee that it will be just as soon as I can!
