A few years ago, I found to my surprise that my DNA was predominantly Norwegian/ Icelandic , and since then I have traced my ancestral blood to the Vikings, deep near the arctic circle.
Strangely, I could have lost my life at the age of three in Norway, on holiday with my parents, when I fell down a deep slope and was heading into a ravine. I remember clinging to any root or piece of earth to save myself ,as. my father rolled down the slope and managed to rescue me before i hit the water fall. I clearly see this still to this day !
. Occasionally I like to honour my blood line by performing a Scandinavian song, and hope to one day return to Norway and also visit Iceland to find out more of my bloodline:)
This lovely lullaby is about a mother protecting her child from a hungry wolf in the freezing cold of winter. This has been translated as close as possible to the words in English.
If anyone is interested, I learnt a little Norwegian to perform another lullaby a while ago, however it is a very difficult language ! The link to that one is below as are the lyrics to this:)
As always thank you for your listen and ...Skol!!:)

A howling wolf in midnight woods
May dreams of a long , restful slumber
But hunger gnaws at his too wolvish mood
His burrows snowed, cold, deep under
Oh wolf!Oh wolf! Don't you come near
You'll never get my baby
Oh wolf! Oh wolf! Don't you come here
No matter how starved you may be
A howling wolf in midnight woods
Sings his despair and anger
But i'll feed him a tail of pig
To sate his wolvish hunger
