I have long loved this fine old Scottish folk song,
It has been covered by so many folk artists, and there are many versions, but I chose Donovan's as he is one of my favourite folk artists
The sad tale of a young medieval noble maiden who is married off to rich man's son by her father . She being 24, the boy just 14 .
. As she watches him grow slowly into a man, she falls in love with him, but alas! He dies at 17 after fathering a son
