The tradition of Halloween originates from the pagan/Celtic festival known as Samhain.
.(Pronounced Sow-in), or 'All hallows eve . It represents the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. It is also a time of remembering and honouring those who have passed,. The pagan/ Wiccan tradition is to leave food out on the 31st October, to feed the souls who return on that night..Traditionally, it is celebrated from 31 October to 1 November, as the Celtic day began and ended at sunset. This is about halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice.
