At the 2025 Trainfest in Milwaukee, WI, there was a booth with a hands-on sample of their upcoming product.
This takes computer based train simulators to a whole new level!
The Sim Hogger is a life-sized version of a prototype control stand. It is designed to be used with most of the popular train sims on the market, and I was told there is a way to interface it to you model railroad through JMRI.
During the show, they had a sign-up sheet for a 15 minute sample. I selected my spot earlier in the day on Sunday. I was given a basic overview of the controls, and what to expect along the route.
This was SO MUCH FUN! I had to maintain a professional composure, but inside I was a giddy train nut.
The parts are 3D printed, and coupled with the necessary electronics to connect to a computer. Check out their website, and look for them at large shows to give it a try yourself!
