A rising star in entertainment who best exemplifies the Bangsa Malaysia spirit is marking her first entry in the popular fans' choice awards Anugerah Melodi Terhangat (AMT 2026) this year.

Singer, actress and aspiring children's educationist Layla Sania Khairuzikri is in the running for Hottest Mandarin Language Celebrity and competing against her are two of her heroes Firdhaus Farmizi and Shila Amzah.

Layla, who also sings in Malay, hopes to specialise in special education and dreams of opening her own learning centre one day.

Another first-time nominee is actor Zairi Aziz, the younger brother of veteran actress Nasha Aziz.
Zairi won Best Actor in last year's talent search Drama Sangat.

AMT 2026 carries the theme Power and once again celebrates celebrities and works that stand out through their immense popularity.

Taking place on Oct 18 at 9pm, AMT 2026 will be broadcast live on TV3.
