Israel’s military chief of staff has strongly suggested a ground invasion of Lebanon could be approaching.

Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi told troops that the extensive air strikes in Lebanon, were designed to “prepare the ground for your possible entry and to continue degrading Hezbollah”.

The IDF previously stated that they had no immediate plans for a ground invasion.

However, Halevi's statement has been the strongest indication that troops could cross the border.
