Taylor Swift has said the fatal knife attack at a dance workshop themed around her music in Southport has left her “completely in shock”.

At least three children have died and others have been left in critical condition following the incident.

In a statement released on her Instagram story on Tuesday, the singer said the “horror” of yesterday’s attack “is washing over me continuously”.

“The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders,” she continued.

“These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families,” her statement concluded.
