A lot of people assume their curl pattern just changed overnight, but usually your curls are responding to something that shifted in your routine, structure, styling, or hair health.
Here are the biggest things I see:
• Hair feels coated, limp, or products just sit on top → you likely need a reset wash day with clarifying + bond-building
• Curls loosen as they dry → your stylers may be too soft or lacking enough hold and structure for your hair type
• Curls look uneven or won’t spring up → your styling or diffusing technique may be reducing curl formation without you realizing it
• Ends look stretched or stringy → damage, length, or overdue trims can weigh curls down even on healthy hair
And yes… sometimes internal changes like hormones, postpartum, or perimenopause can affect your curl pattern too.
But before assuming your curls are “gone,” you need to rule out the things you can control first.
