Black sticky rice...it's not just sticky rice that is black! It has a satisfying chew and a beautiful aroma that is unique and unmistakable.
Black sticky rice pudding was the first dessert I made after leaving Thailand because it was one of my favorites growing up so nostalgia points are high. But also...it is incredibly easy with ingredients that are easy to find.
In this video my black rice pudding has some job's tear seeds mixed in (they're kind of like a fat barley) but I also love longans (canned is fine), young coconut (canned also fine), corn and taro.
Black rice is whole grain rice, so as far as desserts go, it's definitely healthier. And you can adjust the sweetness or substitute your sweetener of choice!
