In the run-up to COP26, we asked our researchers to tell us about their work and the challenges of tackling climate change.

Rebecca Ford is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Strathclyde and the Research Director of the UK’s Energy Revolution Research Consortium.

Her research is based on net zero energy transitions and how the UK, and nations worldwide, can get to net zero emissions. She explains that as well as reducing carbon emissions, it’s also about improving biodiversity and air quality and reducing fuel poverty, as well as empowering communities.

“I’d like to see Government moving beyond looking just at costs or just at carbon, and I want to see more integration across the range of priorities that are important to so many people because real change will only happen once we start to break down these silos in policymaking.” says Rebecca.
