Misaligned car tires mean your car needs more fuel - 1% misalignment can equal 3% extra fuel - but did you know misaligned tires contribute significantly to air pollution, both from the extra emissions and from tiny particles coming off the tires as they wear.
AutoAlign, led by RL Capital Ltd, uses sensor technology, artificial intelligence (#AI) and data analytics to flag tires that are out of alignment and show users exactly what that's causing in terms of extra emissions and particulates.
Air pollution is the world’s largest environmental health threat. In the UK alone it is responsible for around 40,000 early deaths and costs billions of pounds annually in health and care services. The composition, interactions and impacts of pollution are increasingly complex. In order to better understand the intricate synergies and systems at play, and plan future interventions, the Government has invested £42.5 million in a programme of high-quality, multidisciplinary, research and innovation.
The Clean Air programme aims to bring together leading researchers from across atmospheric, medical and social science to better predict exposure to air pollution and its effects on vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. It will identify practical and usable solutions to air pollution to help policy makers and business protect health and work towards a cleaner economy.
