UKRI Stories | Stimulating 560 jobs in machinery manufacturing for Yorkshire and Manchester @UKResearchandInnovation | Uploaded July 2021 | Updated October 2024, 7 hours ago.
We’re investing £23 million to drive growth in the West #Yorkshire and Greater #Manchester machinery manufacturing sector, through our flagship #StrengthInPlaces Fund.

The Advanced Machinery & Productivity Initiative – led by the UK's National Physical Laboratory - will provide businesses with access to cutting-edge #reseaarch and development, expertise and facilities that help solve #innovation challenges.

It will stimulate rapid growth in the UK's #machinery #manufacturing sector and help deliver targets such as #netzero #carbon #emissions and increased export. Its expected benefits for local communities include an extra 560 local jobs, including 120 new apprenticeships. #InvestingForImpact
