Triathlon can get expensive fast.
Wetsuit.
Bike.
Helmet.
Shoes.
Nutrition.
Race fees.
Watch.
Trainer.
Goggles.
Swim cap.
The list goes on.
Gear matters for sure matters but if you’re waiting until you have the perfect setup to start training, you’re probably overcomplicating it.
My goggles were $7.
My swim cap was $4.
My bike was what the community would call “not impressive.”
The point is not to be cheap.
The point is to stop letting equipment become the excuse.
Get what you need.
Use what you have.
Start where you are.
The gear can help.
It won’t become the athlete for you.
