A lot of business owners obsess over finding a “blue ocean.”

No competition.
No saturation.
No noise.

But there is a tradeoff people do not talk about enough:

Sometimes a completely untapped market is untapped because demand has not been proven yet.

Meanwhile, saturated markets usually tell you something important:

People are already spending money there.

The problem is not always competition.

A lot of the time, it is weak positioning.

If ten people are selling “video editing,” then yes, that becomes a pricing battle.

But if one person is selling:
authority,
trust,
brand positioning,
audience growth,
and customer acquisition through content…

they are not having the exact same conversation anymore.

Same service.
Different framing.
Different perceived value.

I am still learning this too, but one thing I have noticed is:

Markets often feel overcrowded when the messaging sounds interchangeable.

The sharper your positioning becomes, the less direct competition you tend to feel.
