Zwift will humble you fast if you ignore the numbers.
Business does the same thing, minus the bike shorts.
On Zwift, you see wattage, heart rate, cadence, distance, elevation, and a leaderboard full of people making you question your cardiovascular dignity. They have no idea I'm in Z2 rn.
At first, it feels like hoopla.
Then you realize the numbers are warning you before your legs submit their resignation.
If I’m pushing 500 watts, I’m not “locked in.”
I’m about to explode.
Business works the same way.
High churn is feedback.
High burn rate is feedback.
Leads coming in but nobody converting is feedback.
Spending more than you make is feedback with brass knuckles.
A lot of business owners run on vibes for too long.
“I feel like sales are fine.”
Beautiful.
Feelings are not a dashboard.
You do not need to track every metric like a finance bro in a Patagonia vest. No disprespect to the finance bros, I love you.
However, it is worthwhile to know the numbers that matter.
Cash flow.
Churn.
Burn rate.
Conversion rate.
Lead quality.
Fulfillment capacity.
Know ya numbas.
Because momentum is great until it sends you into a wall wearing clip-in shoes.
