This was after my first time running a marathon. Back in '24 (wild to think that was 2 years ago).

Y'know there's some playfulness to this video however truth be told I was pretty bummed after the race. Wrongfully so. might I add.

I was disappointed I didn't hit my goal finish time. As time has passed, I'm able to be proud of my first swing at the 26.2 - but I wish I would've revelled in the accomplishment in the moment and been able to celebrate with loved ones more.

We often hear about not moving the goal post. In this instance, the goal post didn't even move. I overshadowed an acheivement by adding an unrealistic expectation to it.

The moral of this quick annecdote isn't that you shouldn't swing for the fences - it's if you swing for the fences and hit a double, you're still helping the team.
