Who was Captain Gilad Pellaeon? He has a long history with Grand Admiral Thrawn going all the way back to Heir to the Empire, the book that introduced Thrawn to Star Wars back in 1991. In that book and its two sequels, Pellaeon served as someone to basically stand around and be amazed by Thrawn’s tactical genius. He asks the Grand Admiral how he outwitted the New Republic, and then Trawn gets to explain to Pellaeon (and the readers) why and how he’s such a smartypants. Pellaeon was a significant character in Star Wars Legends. So far in canon he’s only popped up in Tales of the Empire, the book Thrawn: Treason, The Mandalorian, and he could be briefly heard as part of Thrawn’s Seventh Fleet during the Battle of Lothal in Star Wars Rebels. As part of the Shadow Council, we see he is still intensely loyal to his Grand Admiral, wearing the emblem of the Seventh Fleet on his arm.
