What was Cad Bane’s story before The Book of Boba Fett? He was an orphan named Colby who grew up on the streets until he was taken in by a criminal named Lazlo. He changed his name to Cad Bane and followed in his mentor’s footsteps after his death. He gained a reputation as one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy by the time of the Clone Wars. He caused trouble even for the Jedi, breaking into their temple and stealing a holocron. He was caught and arrested on multiple occasions, but always broke free. He was a rival to Jango Fett, and trained Boba to hone his skills, all with the purpose of fighting the young clone to see who was better. The duel ended in a draw, and with Bane himself shot in the head. But he survived. Nothing a metal plate can’t fix! After the rise of the Empire he was hired by the Kaminoans to capture another young clone named Omega, and he later took Imperial bounties to kidnap Force-sensitive children. Little else is known about his history from the early reign of the Empire up until the time of the New Republic.
