Although the plot of one new character in House of the Dragon season 2 has been altered from the novel, it has nevertheless set the stage for a connected betrayal in the future.
The second season of House of the Dragon has a larger cast as the Blacks and Greens try to enlist more houses in their quest for the Dance of the Dragons while fighting breaks out throughout Westeros.
Dragonriders and new lords of aristocratic houses are among the new characters this season, Alicent's brother Ser Gwayne Hightower was introduced in season 2.
