August and I headed to central Kentucky for a first Saturday test in MadCo and some music shopping in Lexington. This went much better than my solo trip to Richmond the month prior where I got their new testing time wrong. For anyone going to Madison County, they are noon and not 12:20 PM anymore. Enjoy!
Madison County sirens are tested on the first Saturday of each month at noon.

Tropical Storm Gordon made landfall in the Gulf of Mexico on September 4th, 2018. It meandered its way through the Mississippi River Valley, and eventually traversed east through the Ohio River Valley as a tropical depression before becoming a remnant low. On September 8th, off of the low, numerous severe storms bringing severe wind, flash flooding, and two EF-0 tornadoes, in central Kentucky and southern Indiana. One of these severe storms passed through Madison County, prompting a severe thunderstorm warning, resulting in this very siren activation. As soon as I learned of the approaching weather, I situated myself on the top floor of the library in the quiet study zone, allowing me to get this eye level shot of the siren. It wasnt super loud inside, but there werent any windows open. Definitely a cool experience nonetheless! Enjoy!")
