Type: Federal Signal Model 7T
Signal: Alert
Location: 97 Old New Pike, Mitchellsburg, KY
We were originally going to try the 7 in Parksville that has a very good shot but Mike had a feeling the 2001-130 in the hills above town had replaced it (we left an audio recorder, he was correct!). We headed to the 7T in nearby Mitchellsburg and were well rewarded. This thing was awfully punchy for a single phase siren.
Boyle County sirens are tested on the first Friday of each month at noon.
Originally recorded 10/1/21.

![Whelen WPS-2904 | Wail and Voice | Richmond, KY [Severe Thunderstorm Warning]
Type: Whelen WPS-2904
Signal: Wail and Voice (Severe Thunderstorm Warning)
Location: 464 University Drive, Richmond, Madison County, KY (Moore Building)
Tropical Storm Gordon made landfall in the Gulf of Mexico on September 4th, 2018. It meandered its way through the Mississippi River Valley, and eventually traversed east through the Ohio River Valley as a tropical depression before becoming a remnant low. On September 8th, off of the low, numerous severe storms bringing severe wind, flash flooding, and two EF-0 tornadoes, in central Kentucky and southern Indiana. One of these severe storms passed through Madison County, prompting a severe thunderstorm warning, resulting in this very siren activation. As soon as I learned of the approaching weather, I situated myself on the top floor of the library in the quiet study zone, allowing me to get this eye level shot of the siren. It wasnt super loud inside, but there werent any windows open. Definitely a cool experience nonetheless! Enjoy!
