Alertus is currently driving their MHPSA around the country and giving demos. A few people brought to my attention that they would be visiting the University of Cincinnati, so of course I had to go. Met up with August, Kurt, Jeremy, and Dominic, and we had a hell of a time finding the thing considering they didn't list an exact address. This was a cool experience, and my first time hearing any siren with the "Hörmann" style horns.

Tropical Storm Gordon made landfall in the Gulf of Mexico on September 4th, 2018. It meandered its way through the Mississippi River Valley, and eventually traversed east through the Ohio River Valley as a tropical depression before becoming a remnant low. On September 8th, off of the low, numerous severe storms bringing severe wind, flash flooding, and two EF-0 tornadoes, in central Kentucky and southern Indiana. One of these severe storms passed through Madison County, prompting a severe thunderstorm warning, resulting in this very siren activation. As soon as I learned of the approaching weather, I situated myself on the top floor of the library in the quiet study zone, allowing me to get this eye level shot of the siren. It wasnt super loud inside, but there werent any windows open. Definitely a cool experience nonetheless! Enjoy!")
