When Bruin and I went to the SD-10 that failed in May, I dropped my recorder at this Finback in Chillicothe to see what it did, and I got a bit more than what I bargained for as it seems that various units do 2 full alert cycles. It seemed these units were part of the city system as the county Vortexes that we were near appeared to only do one minute of alert while the city units did 2 full cycles. I am going to hopefully attempt a video of this unit in August as many of the finbacks in Chillicothe (as well as across Ohio) are disappearing as many units are being fitted with gear driven rotators and are having the fins removed.
Ross County tests their sirens on the first day of every month at noon, weather-permitting.
