A cover of the song What's Up People by Maximum The Hormone from their album 'Bu-ikikaesu' and also used in the second opening sequence of Death Note.
Death Note is a show that I watched quite a while ago, but definitely has stuck in my memory due it having a unique premise. Even better, the second opening hit like a truck, and never heard music like this before, used for any show! I immediately had to find out this band and check out the rest of their music, and definitely a big MTH fan now!
This cover and arrangement is pretty easy for the guitars, so I decided to experiment more with the drums, which hopefully has given a more raw and aggressive sound! We decided to play it in Drop A too, which is why it sounds a little different, mainly because it's easier on my voice for the clean vocals in there and just to give a different and maybe heavier/chuggier sound!
The vocals were pretty difficult on this one though, since it's in Japanese and VERY quick, so it's not great but hopefully I did the original some justice!
I hope you enjoyed this cover, be sure to leave a comment if you have any requests for more covers!
