Over the past two console generations, buying games digitally has become increasingly prevalent. Eurogamer claim 80% of UK video game purchases are now digital copies instead of physical ones!
For someone like me, who prioritises physical games, that was quite alarming! I started looking into it and, the more I thought about it, the more I started to lose my physical gaming bias and come to accept that - regardless of format - my games were becoming increasingly temporary and disposable pieces of entertainment media that are designed with an expiry date.
