In 2011 a tablet was discovered which contained a new section of the Epic of Gilgamesh, one of, if not the, world's oldest epic story. It dates to the Ur III Period of Early Mesopotamian history, and was known up until at least the Neo-Babylonian and Persian eras. There is one Roman era source which appears to contain an aspect of Gilgamesh, albiet in a garbled form. This video presents what they knew.
