HANTAVIRUS
Passengers from the MV Hondius, a cruise ship that's been at the centre of the hantavirus outbreak, have started to return home. Hantavirus is a rare, but serious rodent-borne virus. It can pass through their droppings, urine, and saliva and in some cases it can infect people and spread from person to person. It causes flu-like symptoms that usually show up 1 - 8 weeks after exposure. So far, eight cases have been reported including three deaths. On Sunday, the ship was allowed to anchor in the Canary Islands and evacuate the 149 passengers and crew. While some worry the virus might spread, health officials say that's unlikely. Passengers have now started to return home, including 5 people from Australia who will have to quarantine for up to 45 days.
EUROVISION
The stars of this years Eurovision have hit the turquoise carpet. Eurovision is an international song contest, where singers from most European countries, and a few others, like Australia, go head to head. This year marks the 70th year of the contest and it's being held in Vienna. Representing us Aussies is Delta Goodrem with her song Eclipse.

The Panthers pounced on the Canberra Raiders early on. The Raiders didn't let it get away, though with the two sides going tit for tat all match. But one man proved the difference. With 5 conversions, 3 assists, and 1 try, it was Nathan Cleary who catapulted the Panthers to a 30 to 18 victory, and their ninth win of the season.
A-LEAGUE
In New Zealand, Brisbane Roar faced Wellington Phoenix in the women's A-League semi-final. The Kiwis had the upper hand as Makala Woods punted this first-half goal, held the pressure with some near misses and made the most of an extra time mistake by Brisbane to secure New Zealand's first-ever spot in an A-League grand final. They'll face Melbourne City in Melbourne on Saturday.
MOTHER'S DAY CLASSIC
Seas of pink flooded streets around the country as tens of thousands took part in the Mother's Day Classic fun run. he run is about raising money and awareness for cancer research, while celebrating and remembering the special women in our lives.
ARCHIBALD PRIZE WINNER
The winner of this years Archibald prize has been announced. The Archibald Prize is one of Australia's longest-running painting prizes, with the winner receiving a cash prize of $100,000. This year's winner was Richard Lewer for his portrait of fellow artist, Pitjantjatjara elder, Iluwanti Ken.
ACCORDION FESTIVAL
More than 450 accordionists gathered for the annual accordion festival in Slovenia. Where they played a range of Slovenian folk favourites on the banks of a picturesque mountain lake.
SWISS COW QUEENS
Thousands gathered in Switzerland for the Queens Fight, where cows lock horns in a traditional contest to see which cow reigns supreme.
