The HbA1c test is a simple blood test that can be done, anytime of day or night, which tells the story of sugar exposures, not just in the moment, but for the last 3 months. The sugar exposure is that of the red blood cell, an easily accessible set of cells. It works like a charm. As long as your red blood cells and haemoglobin levels are NORMAL.
But what if they’re not………
Interpreting the results of this test is challenging. And on occasion, it can lead to a WRONG DIAGNOSIS !
It is important to be aware the HbA1c test should never be THE ONLY TEST used to diagnose diabetes and/or monitor glycemic control.
