The Pulaski County Quorum Court passed an emergency appropriation on Monday to partially make up for an over $9 million shortfall in its general fund, after the county treasurer brought up budget concerns that had the potential to affect payroll for employees.
According to documents provided by Pulaski County Treasurer Debra Buckner, the county budget has been operating with significant shortfalls since 2023. In 2023, the difference between county revenue, $92 million, and the county’s revised budget, $125 million, was nearly $33 million dollars. In 2024 and 2025, that total was over $38 million.
