Jai Durvasula, 12, of El Dorado, is on his way to Washington, D.C., after taking home the top prize at the National Civics Bee Arkansas State Finals on Wednesday.

For Jai, who attends Barton Junior High School, the event gave him a second chance to achieve his dream of representing Arkansas at the national level. He was a top-five finalist in last year's civics bee and returned to this year's competition to finish what he started.
