Finks pledges to build trust, ‘restore bridges’ as North Little Rock’s police chief @arkansasonline

Hayward Finks was sworn in as North Little Rock's first Black chief of police Thursday and pledged to uphold the agency's reputation while reaching out to those who are neutral or critical of the department.

Finks, who worked for the Little Rock Police Department for 33 years and rose to assistant chief of police at that agency, is the 19th person to lead North Little Rock Police Department, he told attendees of his swearing-in at the North Little Rock Event Center on Thursday morning.
