The city of Vilnius in Lithuania was named the European Capital of Christmas for 2025 so of course we had to make our way to the country's capital and have a look four ourselves during our Eastern Europe Christmas Market tour.
We started in the Cathedral Square where most of the holiday celebrations are. From the different Christmas market booths selling food and crafts to the beautiful carousel and very impressive Christmas tree this is a small but very nice place to visit that will for sure put you into the Christmas spirit. Make sure to try the cottage cheese donuts with chocolate sauce, those are a must!
After a little city tour of Old Town in the Christmas train, we made our way to Vilnius Town Hall Square where they have a stunning ie skating rink and a few more Christmas Market booths with food and drinks.
Overall, Vilnius in Lithuania is a very nice place to visit during the Christmas season not only for their Christmas markets and other Holiday offerings but simple to enjoy the city which is fully decorated.
