Koreans often stay in spas instead of hotels, something we have never heard of anywhere else in the world. So to immerse ourselves into the Korean culture, we are moving in a Jjimjilbang for the next 24 hours.

These famous places around South Korea have many different names including Korean spa, Korean bathhouse but the proper term is Jjimjalbang or in Korean μ°μ§λ°©. These establishments are often open 24/7 and include large section with different baths, pools, cold plunges, dry and wet saunas and showers. This is the section where clothing is not allowed. Other than the bathhouse portion, the Korean spas have large common areas where people can relax, sleep and get some "me time". Food is also a big portion of this experience and the facility we visited which was called Sparex Good Morning City in Seoul had a wonderful food court serving all kinds of Korean food. They also had vending machines, and a ramen bar. If you really want the full experience, get a full-body scrub!
Would I suggest you to stay there overnight? Probably not has e didn't sleep that great. We are simply not used to sleep on the floor surrounded by other people. With that being said, this is a great way to explore and participate into the Korean culture with visiting South Korea so you should definitely visit Jimjilbang and spend a few hours there.
