This was not something I planned for during my trip around Afghanistan but today is the 4th anniversary of the liberation day after the Taliban took over the Capital City of Kabul from the Americans. Within the last few days, I have noticed the flags going up around the country in addition to additional security and check points on the roads.
As soon as I left my hotel in Mazar-e-Sharif we started to see military vehicle mainly American Humvees with the Taliban flag and people marching, chanting and celebrating throughout the city. It was quite something to see, something hard to understand in a way for a Westerner like me. But since I was there and witnessed it, I decided to document it as well.
If you ever wanted to visit Afghanistan then I couldn't recommend Let's Go Afghanistan enough. They organized an amazing itinerary that took me all over the country from the different cities to the most remote locations and all of this by putting safety first. letsgoafghanistan.com
