Hotel Cambodiana was the first Cambodian-owned luxury hotel in Phnom Penh. It was built by King Norodom Sihanouk - designed in the New Khmer style of architecture. Like the country of Cambodia, it has a long and often difficult history. The hotel's prime was in the early 90s when dignitaries, royalty, and celebs stayed there. These days things seems a bit bleak for the hotel. Most of the 239 rooms sit empty most nights. In fact, the company that owns it has been toying with the idea of tearing it down for many years now. That's one of the reasons we wanted to have a staycation in this iconic hotel. I'll show you the rooms, the pool, the gym, the tennis courts, the buffet breakfast, the garden cafe, and the classy Cambodiana bar.
