Taiwan is one of the best places in the world for food. It's affordable; there's variation; a lot of it is made fresh; they're not afraid to borrow from Japan, China, and other incredible food nations; AND... it's delicious! Like, REALLY DELICIOUS!
We spent 2 weeks traveling Taiwan - from Taipei to Kaohsiung, with a stopover in Tainan (which many consider the food capital). We hit night markets, we ate a ton of street food, we went to hole-in-the-walls and to restaurants that specialize in beef, duck, even stinky tofu. We had unique snacks.
