“We are what they grow beyond.”

This isn’t a very climatic edit, but more so comprised of a progressive thought. Okay but y’all get ready I'm about to get a bit deep on you guys.

What Yoda says is a nod to the fact that this new generation will shine brighter than the one before, and I knew that the quote was essential to include because this edit is mainly based around that notion.

So we can all agree that TLJ pushed for reality. TFA was more so a dream that these new characters were in, because I mean, who wouldn’t want to be a rebel hero? They fed into these legends of Luke, Han, and Leia, and much so that the audience fed into that same dream as well. Even fed into the illusion that Rey’s parents were important, because she desperately wanted to believe that they were something great, and that it would hand her some sort of belonging in this story. And then in the TLJ there were these older characters that indulged themselves with the storylines of the younger characters, and they were placed there so that these characters could learn something. In every scenario of each character, they learn some sort of reality. That things aren’t as they thought they were. That things are definitely complicated.

That’s when the dream starts to collapse. I feel that Paige Tico was a representation of what these rebels go through, and the loss that comes with it, and that’s where Rose comes in also. I’m pretty sure many rebels die and their last thought is that they’re dying for a greater cause. But what’s the greater cause if the war between both sides remain constant? Their children are probably going to fight in this war, grandchildren, great-grandchildren…

And I also think that that’s what DJ meant as well, saying to Finn “they blow you up today, you’ll blow them up tomorrow.” Kinda like, "Finn why are you overreacting? this has been going on for so long."

So what I feel is that this new generation of characters are going to recognize that and bring this ongoing cycle to an end. Movies always reflect the time frames in which they are made. With what our generation is doing right now is astonishing. We’re pushing for more gender equality, more love and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community, better POC representation in film, and are currently pushing to prevent future gun violence. In the end, we just want to live in a better world, and I feel that our generation, as well as these characters, will make change for the better. :)

I write too much haha, anyway I hope you guys enjoy this one!!
Also sorry if the voiceovers sound a little odd, I was trying to make them as audible as possible.
