Looking for an easy yet stunning woodturning project? In this video, I’ll show you how to make a set of beautiful candle holders from sycamore wood — a perfect project for beginner woodturners!
I turned these on my Harvey T60S wood lathe using carbide turning tools from Easy Wood Tools. Here’s the full finishing process:
✅ Sanded to 240 grit using Klingspor abrasives
✅ Applied Plum stain from the Hampshire Sheen Intrinsic Colour Range
✅ Lightly sanded back with 400 grit
✅ Added Violet stain from the Hampshire Sheen Carnival Colours Range
✅ Finished with Hampshire Sheen Purple Embellishing Wax for that extra pop
✅ Finally, parted it off the lathe for a smooth, professional look
This project is beginner-friendly and a great way to practice woodturning techniques, coloring, and finishing!
