We had a great time building this Wallaby enrichment shelter at Yorkshire Wildlife Park with a fantastic team-building group.
Over the build, the group created the five main components; The two sides, the back, the roof, and the feeders. These were then carried to the enclosure (the ultimate team test) and were installed in between and on the posts that we had put in the ground the day before. Everything went completely to plan, and all the component parts slid into place as planned.
The shelter was designed with feeding devices built into it. With a tombola feeder built directly into the back wall which can be accessed from both inside and out. The roof has two extra long arms with attachments on the underneath especially for the feeders to hang from.
The team did a fantastic job, and it looks amazing positioned in place. We've also heard it works great for both the wallaby and keepers! Thanks to the awesome team for joining us for the day, and to the keepers for your time during the installation.
