So, today we are out and about for some midday walking in the Forest of Dean which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England (predominately the western side of Gloucestershire). The Forest of Dean covers a large area - approximately 42 miles (110 km) which is a triangular shaped plateau bounded by the River Wye to the west and northwest, Herefordshire to the north, the River Severn to the south, and the City of Gloucester to the east.
The goal of this walk was to find the Mierystock disused railway tunnel and take a brief look at it. Building of the tunnel commenced in the summer of 1872 and was completed 1874. The railway provided a link between the Great Western’s network and Gloucestershire’s Severn & Wye railway lines. The railway line was closed in 1956. The tunnel is 242 yards long.
For this walk. I did not use the usual camera - DJI Pocket 3, instead I used an action camera due to rain and 50 mph winds being forecast. As it transpired tho it did not rain and it was not as windy as I was hoping for! One good thing about using an action camera was there did not appear to be as much up and down vertical bounce...see what you think and please let me know in the comment section.
